I am asking around the site if someone or anyone would
Like to help me create bubbleshoot game art?

I am busy programming the game and I am not so good at graphics design.
Anyone that contributes will be given an free copy or a download of the game.
I will share it but need alittle help making good graphics for it.

Thanks

Yes,  But it can be a lot nicer looking than that example.

Depending on how we create the assets.

The screen dimension I'll be using is 1024 X 768 and it will support two players working together.

ok couple questions;
are there two cannons or two cannons and two sets of bubbles?
what size would the bubbles be?
is it network or two player one keyboard? (just interested)

Do you have a preference for theme? i thought halloween (walking dead) but i think it's a bit late for that
Could you show me a bubble design that you like?

ScottieB

Yes two cannons and cooperative mode but I will probably have various modes
Like challenge mode both players competing for best time too.

Bubbles  32 x 32 or 48 x 48 but it will be easy switching sizes I think.

Theme Christmas would be nice but we will want something for all year also

We really just need cannons, bubbles, backgrounds and maybe some extras.

We can set it up anyway we want.
Or arrange it like you wish.

Here's a set of a few bubbles.
The problem I'm having is I can get them to work perfectly in The Gimp paint program.
But what code do I need to have to make them display right in Playbasic?

This would give a real bubbles look to the game.
Any ideas on what blending operation do I need to use?

Thanks

this is a major problem with playbasic scottie. you have to jump through hoops to get anti aliasing to work.
i remember some examples of getting AA to work but i can't find them atm.
i want to work up some gfx for this so i'll try make them 1bit.
sorry i haven't responded but my internet has been down

ScottieB

I was wondering if I lost you.
That would be a bummer since I don't have many people interested in the project.
I looked all over then net for assets but the ones I found seem to be for ipads, androids or
phones with wrong or smaller dimensions.

The bubbles you see now above would be good but I still can't get them to display right like
they do in a photoshop or the likes.

If you could show me an example on how to do this it would be greatly appreciated.
Also I would still need help in improving the graphics pipeline some more.
Like cannons,backgrounds and extras.

Like I said earlier you will receive a free copy for helping me and if you want
I can add you name in the credits as graphics designer/assistant.

Thanks

I'm checking out your post right now and I it looks hard like you say.
Is there a way you can code me up a snippet for the bubbleshooter?
I know you know more about this than I do right now since it was your post.
I just want real nice looking bubbles instead of just solid images.

Please respond when you have time.
Until then I'll check the post out further.

ScottieB

Maybe,  I'm asking too much out of these bubbles.
Looks like a long process and a hard one at that which will be overhead on gfx.
Plus I think I need all kinds of blending of some sorts too on top of it.

If you would like...
I'll let you decide where to go from here.

You can choose the theme.  Maybe, Christmas.
But what I need is just some nice graphics to top my program off.
Only a few things considering it's not that big.

Would you like a running copy of so far???
I just want this project to look and feel nice that's all.

P.S.  I was just hopeing that would look like actual bubbles.

BlinkOk

ok. i think 1bit is the way to go. i'll see if i can put something together
yes. a running copy would be good so i can get an idea of image sizes

Here you go blink.

It's not done.
I'm still working on it.
I was stump about making it look more appealing.

I think I would like to increase the sprite sizes a bit.

Say 48 X 48 for bubble sizes ect...

Don't reuse any of the graphics here.
They where bought online at my attempt to make it look better.

Thats why I want our own because I'm writing the game.

Thanks
