Kewl beans!

I'll give you some time.
Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Peace

ok i'm working on a little something something. can you modify the game as follows;
1. it needs to be able to animate the bubbles (frame by frame and maybe a programmed shake)
2. it needs to generate particle effects when they pop (disappear)
are those changes ok?

BlinkOk

ok how about this. sort of a monsters/day of the dead mash up;

firstly you'll notice the characters are not perfect circles so they'll overlap but i think that will be ok.
secondly when you shoot they will just be coloured bubbles but when they hit another bubble they will "pop" into their character.
when they explode it will be like a "splat", like coloured paint
the general idea is that there will be "heaps" of animation and particles that will be going off everywhere

the bubbles are monster characters (they're a little rough at the edges but hey, that's 1bit. A little less noticeable against an image background );

this is with AA;

they would all have little movements that they do so the whole screen would be moving just a little. they would bobble around a little bit too, here's and example;
http://www.fastswf.com/swf--SU

i thought you could have 3 other "force bubbles" that would;
1. destroy bubbles around it
2. destroy bubbles horizontally
3. destroy bubbles vertically

anyway, if it's not your cup of tea no worries. just find one you like, post a pic and i'll see what i can do

ScottieB

Awesome graphics BlinkOk!

I love it.
Monstaz!

How would you do the normal bubbles?

Can you post design notes so I can modify the program?

Anything else you can post for cannons or backdrop would be nifty by me!

You got a great way of designing stuff.

This can be a joint effort on you and my part.

Sorry I did not reply sooner but I've been busy with stuff.

You will definately be given credits for graphics design.

I will try to see you through this project but my time is limited for the time being.
Next week seems to be looking better.

But I can't wait to see your animations or future help.

Sincerely,
ScottieB

BlinkOk

awesome scottie. i'll mock something up over the next couple days

no worries on the time. we can take as long as we want. no rush at all

ScottieB

Blink thanks for understanding.

I would love to see anything else you come up with not being pushy but
Surprizes help me carry on with the project like the ones above and they keep me working
On the project at hand.

I'd love to see one of those animations your talking about.

Though normal bubbles you say would come first.
Shakey should be all that hard to add.  I don't think.

A powerball shouldn't be that hard either.

But until later

Many Thanks
ScottieB

p.s. Your email address would be nice because this program can grow big.

BlinkOk

no worries scottie. the mockup will explain a lot

ok quick progress report. here's some animation examples;

they all have a programmed wobble(very simple sin/cos code).
the RED, BLUE, ORANGE, GREEN and GREY ones have personalized animations

ScottieB

Awesome Blink!

I get the wobble.

Can you post the animation frames for the monsters!

Or better yet a demo program that I can incorporates anti-alias versions into my bubbleshooter.
Basically your AA post with key frames of the monstarz animations.

I can add the sin/cos wiggle myself.

Still curious about the bubbles before these animations? Or will it be three monstarz?

I like the personalities you gave most of the creatures.

Your doing awesome mate keep it up!

I can't wait till next week when I can work more with you.
Thanks for helping me with graphics I will spend my time adding all your stuff into the game.
I'm not so good at doing graphics but I can make lots of things with play basic.

I hope you don't give up on this because I feel your pretty good.
You also give me the drive to keep on programming.

So, until later
Peace and happy computing!

no worries scottie. ill certainly finish this so don't worry about that.
i'll probably take the weekend to put together a working mockup

monster anims done. on to backgrounds;

BlinkOk

new logo (the .gif messed with the colours but you get the idea) . it's coming together;

ScottieB

Nice! Now all monstarz are animated.
I'm anxious to see what you do with backgrounds.

I now have a few days to work on our program on and off.

I'm not clear on the way you want it done.
Do bubbles turn into the monstarz or do we just use the monstaz for matching?

If bubbles come first then I still don't got good bubbles for monstarz but
If it is the monstarz then were advancing along.

I love your personal touch.

Can you attach the files you got so far for downloading so I can get a better idea on
What I looking at.

Have you typed up the designers notes yet?

Are the animation shown like your AA demos?
If so then will have to add that ability to the game.

Hope to hear from you soon.

I've been messing with the Anit-Aliasing and I've finally come up with real looking bubbles!
Check out the pic the red one is mine.

Not That I want to get rid of the monsarz but maybe the can come first or monstaz inside them.

The function that Kevin wrote works great of this.

They go great with the background now.

BlinkOk

awesome! AA means the graphics are much easier to make

BlinkOk

background done. i'll do the cannons and bubbles to shoot and send you a graphics pack. getting there bit by bit;
