I've been getting to grip with WiX recently (http://wix.sourceforge.net/ (http://wix.sourceforge.net/)) which is the "Windows Installer XML (WiX) toolset" which makes it easy to create an MSI installer for your game just by using notepad to edit an XML document that defines your game installation.
It works pretty well as you can see by my updated Blocks Away installer - see showcase forum entry http://www.underwaredesign.com/forums/index.php?topic=2368.0 (http://www.underwaredesign.com/forums/index.php?topic=2368.0) for details.
The WiX site on sourceforge (Microsoft produced this utility and released it as open source - hoorah) provides some pre-compiled binaries which is what I used and it is fairly simple to take and amend some of the example installation XML files that they have to produce a working MSI installer for your game.
Check out PixelFormer at http://www.qualibyte.com/pixelformer/ (http://www.qualibyte.com/pixelformer/) - description from the web site:
Pixelformer is a new generation bitmap editor, specifically optimized for creating and modifying small-sized images, such as icons, avatars, buttons, etc.
The idea behind Pixelformer is to make a step from classic simple icon editors towards advanced image editing tools. This step is made not only by mixing functionality from different classes of bitmap graphics applications, but also by implementing new unique features which are particularly useful for images with sizes typical for icons. As a result, in many cases Pixelformer is more efficient than sophisticated hi-end photo editors.
When designing Pixelformer, every effort was made to keep it reasonably simple and predictable, so beginners can quickly learn all the necessary features and reach professional quality, while professionals can apply their skills in the most effective way.
