Title: Transplant Mockup
Post by: BigDan256 on December 10, 2020, 05:52:55 AM
Hi,

I was just looking through my old code and found these PlayBASIC projects.

I've been wanting to clone Transplant on the Amiga.
I tend to get stuck trying something tricky, learning new parts of the language, or just becoming busy and shelving it.
Looks like this time I've experimented with types.

The projects are pretty old now, so I'll share the source in case somebody else can use it.
The projects seem to still run on V1.65C - beta15, I just had to comment out the wrapvalue function in one of them.

I vaguely remember having another version where the 1p/2p display clipping was implemented... maybe it'll turn up later

What was the original game ?  I was thinking it was this that blood cell arcade (can't recall it now) upon reading the title, but looking at the demos it feels more draconian or that game top/down chopper shooter from Acid Software

It's an addictive one.
The side/side split screen was something interesting to try, instead of the top/bottom split screen where you could just have 2 screens.

Maybe the next attempt I could try the math library, matrices or vectors might clean the code up a fair bit.

Thanks...   Seek and Destroy was the one I was thinking of
