Decided to show you something for a change.
This is still very much WIP but you should be able to try it.
Hang on the beard and collect stars. You can also hang on flowers. Watch out for the razors.
Move with arrow keys and jump & double jump with right shift. Gamepad is also available :)
The longer you hold the jump key the higher you jump.
Things to improve, add and such:
- Combo doesn't work right in the menu.
- I'm going to add a cap to the little guy.
- Maybe two player mode.
- You can change the keys in the future.
- Adding sound effects and music (Where could I find someone to provide music?).
- Finished menu.
- Hiscore table with all time best combo.
- Some kind of a timer to prevent player from skipping through the menu to the game right after the clock runs out of time.
I can't think of any more at the time. There could be some though :D

yep quite a good little game , very orignal , found the stars to be a bit to far away from the beard and impossible to get without completely faling off screen , so if stars appear within reach that would be good or beard a bit more zig zagy, could do levels where you have to collect at least so many to continue. other than that nice job

The stars change their location after a while if you can't catch them. Also if you drop and not jump from the beard you still have two jumps in the air ;)
The flowers help you reach the stars too sometimes.

yes the jump makes a big difference , very good little game this , controlls a bit akward on keyboard , but on a game pad this will be good as you can use buttons to jump , yes very good , look forward to update

How did you set up the movement for the stars? Where they circle around as they fall a little bit?
Did you use a path or a circular movement algorithm?

The stars' coordinates stay the same. I give them random direction (clockwise or c.clockwise) and a radius. Then I just circle them around according to them (direction&radius) with COS & SIN.

I added an option to change the keys in the menu. Tomorrow maybe something small too - you know... summer :)
I didn't know what to expect from reading the thread title but this is a cool little game.
