I purchased PlayBasic yesterday.  Installed it on a Win7 64 bit system.  I receive this error when trying to update:

Play Basic runs and I can compile programs.

I checked the install location and indeed the file and folder referenced is not there.  I have tried to redownload and reinstall and get the same thing.

How can I fix this?

Thanks,
John

Sounds like you're installing the upgrade to a different folder than the base edition.   Since updates don't contains those files/folders.

  The process is,

  1) install base retail (V1.64L in this case)

  2) download and run PlayBASIC V1.64N3 or whatever the latest upgrade of the installer is.

Thank you!  That solved the whole issue.  Now, when I go to preferences and check for updates I no longer receive the error.  I am up to speed and staarted programming!

Thank you very much for the quick help, Kevin.

Am I allowed to have this installed on both my desktop and my laptop?
