Making the ^ follow the * in play mode?

Is there any way of making the ^ follow the * so that you can make dtab play through the bars whilst jabbing keys? This way i can play a song, set dtab off and tab along, instead of having to press the arrow keys?

Also, whats "editornoteres" ?
