Rygar AGA -  Rygar Comes to Amiga

Rygar was one my favorite niche arcade games during my indoor cricket days, at the time, it was the game that made me wonder about how awesome it would if home computes could do that, of course times rolls on and now it's common place.    Even so, Rygar was ported to most home systems of the day, with one notable exception, the commodore Amiga.   Which seemed strange given that was the system seemed the most likely to pull it off at the time.

Fast forward 30 plus years and a couple of coders in the Amiga scene took up the task of building a port of Rygar for the classic OCS Amiga.

6 Years ago, such a question was posted in a thread called Conversion Capers: Rygar on the Amiga coders forum.  With the help of many experienced coders a way forward seemed possible even on a bare bones Amiga.  A huge ask, considering the specification of the Arcade, the Amiga has a build in dual playfield mode, but the mode is very limiting on your colour palette

If you read through the thread (it spawns 5 years and 100 pages) they cover many approaches that could be used to achieve a result.   It's not just discussion though there are various art  and running tech demos showing what was viable.  But like many forum / community projects things just seemed to cool off with the project.

Then mid to late 2018 Mcgeezer throws the game a new life line, moving from the system spec from the OCS Amiga's to the AGA fitted systems (a1200/a4000)  with a more realistic memory footprint of 2meg from 512K/1Meg.   This seems to be tipping point of the project moving from nice tech demo to a real world port.
